Love a challenge? I sure do, that’s why I particularly love building logos. Creating an identity, a brand, through truly getting to know the client and the premise of the endeavor. It’s a big deal, I fine great value and importance in getting to know people, so to create a design to represent them with a wordmark, lettermark, combination marks, etc. is pinnacle.
The center for teaching and learning excellence is extraordinary group of that promotes excellence through professional learning opportunities. I was tasked to develop a logo to express such an honorable cause. What better way to represent a scholars than a combination mark of bold typography and a book.
“Burnt Cane” is a start-up small black owned business that wanted their logo design to display the strength of the people of color that was enslaved and forced to harvest sugar plantations in the south.
City branding for Dallas Texas was a special one for me. While some may see the a beautiful, progressive city with well maintained streets and sought after neighborhoods; possibly filled with cowboys, but I call it home. I’ve created a combination style logo merging the grit of a texan with the luxury of modern Dallas.
This combination mark was made to represent Hawai’i Volcanoes national parks. With this design, I decided to use a golden approach when things get tough... “keep it simple stupid”. Simplifying the beauty and integrity of Hawai’i and its extravagant landmarks.
